Environmental Club

The main aim of Environment club is to develop green consciousness and promote awareness and social responsibility among students. It also aims to sensitize the students on different environmental issues such as pollution, deforestation exploitation of natural resources. SGMSPM’s Sharadchandra Pawar college of Pharmacy,Dumbarwadi,Otur starting a renowned club of students called Environment club. This club is dedicated to environmental issues. The purpose of the club is to create awareness of environmental issues, such as protection, conservation, preservation, and restoration, with an emphasis on educating and empowering students. The aims and objectives of Enviornmetal club is as follows:

To establish, run or otherwise manage & adminster to provide a platform & brilliant forum for professionals, businessman, students, desiring to work amicus curiae in the field of environment. To render advice in environmental field to general public voluntary organizations. EC is a forum meeting worldwide requirement of Safe & Clean Drinking Water, Solid Waste Management, Industrial Pollution, Hospital Waste Management, Hazardous Waste & other environmental issues. It is a platform for the Scientific & Engineering Professional to discuss about environmental issues not to contrast with the existing associations . Membership of this club is based on the key criteria of competency experience qualification while college membership is open to those relevant students willing to Participate in environmental studies.

Environment Club Best Practice:

Event Objective and Activity
World Environment Day (5th June)
A small initiative taken by our college to inspire and create awareness among the students about the importance of environment conservation.
No vehicle-day
This day is observed all over the world as a World car free day, as a small step towards greener environment in our coming future. On the said day the students of the institute adopted ways like carpooling, use of public transport and a few even adopted bicycle as means of transport
EVS field trip
To undertake the environmental field work which is a part of EVS syllabus a visit organized by college to Maharashtra Shasan Junnar Vanvibhag , Dingore. Which is near to Dingore village. The forest is divided in three parts such as Charakvan, Nakshatrvan and forest area. It also contain a small Matibandhara and water tanks. The students were enthusiastic about eagerly collecting samples of flora and the fauna from the forest. Teacher explained about various natural resources available from forest. Forest also contain one small compost mannuar preparation system which is also helpful information to our students.
Bird Familier Campus Activity
We The SPCOP Enviornmental Club memmbers prepare the bird feedbers to provide the water and feed for the birds as part of our acitivity. The population booms in the summer, putting a great demand on food resources. The more you feed the birds during nesting season, the less time the parents will need to stay away from the nest foraging for food.
Plastic Awarness
We the SPCOP Enviornment Club initiated the activity from 2021-2022 at various tourist places nearby junnar region. Club members had collected plastic materials, distribute paper bags as alternatives to the plastic, Raising awareness about the negative effects of plastic pollution on human health and the environment. This can include teaching people about the hazards of plastic, how to reduce and reuse it, and how to use alternatives.
