About Convention

India is a country where home remedies are very prominent. And people perceive herbal/traditional products as an extension of home remedies. Therefore these items are very popular as health supplements. Currently, the market for herbal supplements varies on the basis of consumer awareness, product availability, and forms of delivery, product acceptance, and regional regulations. Rising health consciousness increased concern towards diet, and enhanced attention towards preventive health care has made them turn towards health-imparting herbal supplements. Cosmetics, personal care, health care, and food supplements have a major share in the global herbal products market. The global herbal medicine market size is increasing continuously and likely to be doubled till 2030 comparing with the current situation. The conference aims to address recent developments in the fields of drugs discovery, formulation development, manufacturing, standardization & quality control, regulatory affairs of natural products. The conference will also address the usefulness of phytomedicines in addressing the various diseases.

About SIP

The advent of house by the name of the Indian Society of Pharmacognosy is a clear omen of the foresightedness of the mastermind’s beings honoring the desk of herbs and their products since times immemorial. The society took birth 42 years back with its headquarters at Punjab University, Chandigarh with the aim of exploring the benefits of the flora and fauna for the human welfare. The society worked leaving no stone unturned, and later found that print media is the prominent source to touch the masses. With this intention, society started to publish a quarterly journal by the name of “Indian Journal of Natural Products”, meanwhile with a new headquarter at Sagar University, Sagar. The Department of Pharmacy, Barkatullah University, Bhopal enjoyed the pleasure of being the HQ of the society from 2003 to 2014. To the latest Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences, Dr. H.S. Gour Central University, Sagar is the current HQ of the society with effective from March 2014. Society of Pharmacognosy is a national body of Pharmacy Professionals not only belonging to the stream of Pharmacognosy, but all the other disciplines in function till date. The quality of services being delivered in succession by the society could be assessed by the fact it has members not only from India but from all round the globe every year, society organizes a customary annual national convention and once in four year international conference to compile the thoughts of scientists and academicians engaged in pharmacognosy research

About SPCOP

Sharadchandra Pawar College of Pharmacy, Otur SPCOP was established in 2004 in the pleasant environment of sahyadri hill ranges with dream to provide job oriented professional courses in Pharmacy. The courses started with, Diploma in Pharmacy (2003) followed by B. Pharm (2004), Research program are in progress in the discipline of M. Pharm (2008) Pharmaceutics and Pharmaceutical Quality Assurance. All courses at the College are recognized by the Government of Maharashtra, Pharmacy Council of India (PCI) and All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) New Delhi. The College is accredited with National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) and is permanently affiliated to Savitribai Phule Pune University, Pune. The SPCOP has 17 Years of existence in the field of Pharmacy. The SPCOP have the strong alumni association with more than 2000 students who are recruited by national and international and national organization at various positions in the academic institutions, clinical research, pharmacovigilance, regulatory affairs, quality assurance, production, marketing and started their own business (Entrepreneurial Services). Dr. Dama Ganesh Y. is presiding as principal and the SPCOP is fortunate to have at its helm. College is adequately supported by highly-qualified and well-trained staff. All the faculties has made the significant contributions in the above mentioned department during the last 18 Years, more than 100 research papers published in the national and international scientific journals, published -grant national and international patents and presented the research work at various national and international conferences as resource person/delegartes. The faculty members of the SPCOP have received the more than 40 Lakhs research grants from the funding agencies like, AICTE, New Delhi and SPPU, Pune. The quality infrastructure provided to the students like highly equipped laboratory for research like HPLC UV Spectroscopy, smart class and other supporting facilities like the animal house and pharma museums makes the college a conductive place for academic learning to provide quality education. The college has library with carpet area 181 Sq. m. Library has an open access system that follows (DDC) Dewey Decimal Classification System. At present library has a Collection of 5225 books, 1335e-books, 1819 e-journals, K-Hub Virtual library access for e-books, open access journals college e-Library collection includes all the specialization related books and reference books like the USP, BP, IP, Merck Index and Manual Dictionaries etc. The library has a Collection of 133 non-book materials i.e. CDs. The library also has a separate collection of dissertations, Project reports, thesis in fields of pharmaceutical quality assurance & pharmaceutics. The College has “ERP” Library software. All entries related to books, journals, thesis, reports are all users data. The circulation system, data retrieval system and OPAC system functioning smoothly with automation of the library work. The college offers the various certificate courses to the students like soft skill development, regulatory affairs, pharmacovigilance, clinical trials, extraction techniques, English language lab as an add-on to the regular syllabus. All the certificate courses defined with the 45Hrs syllabus for each semester. The lectures will be conducted by the experts from their respective filed. All the students will be benefited with the certificate courses as the career point of view. The SPCOP has hosted national level workshop, pharma-model expo and more than 30 international and national level webinars series in the field of pharmaceutical sciences for the students as well as faculties. SPCOP is collaborated with various research centers, pharmaceutical industries and academic institutions for training and research.
